Ambassador Health Announces Baker Steinkuhler as chief executive officer/administrator of Lincoln care campus

Thursday, May 20, 2021

Lincoln, NE - Ambassador Health is thrilled to announce Baker Steinkuhler, RN, NHA, as the new chief executive officer (CEO)/administrator for its second largest health care campus located in Lincoln, Nebraska.

As CEO/administrator, Steinkuhler will direct the day-to-day operations of Ambassador Health of Lincoln, a nationally-recognized post-acute care campus that specializes in pulmonary and ventilator specialty care, skilled nursing and rehabilitation, and extended care. While promoting a culture that reflects the family-owned organization’s values and mission, Steinkuhler will oversee patient care and satisfaction, develop and evaluate annual operating plans, ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and serve as liaison between the organization and the community.

Steinkuhler plans to lean on his experience as a former Husker football player to lead a multi-disciplinary team of health care professionals at Ambassador Health. “Coming from a background of sports, I’m excited to work with a variety of personalities and find creative ways for the team to come together to produce the best positive outcomes for our patients and residents,” stated Steinkuhler.

Steinkuhler graduated from the University of Nebraska Lincoln with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. From there, Steinkuhler pursued a bachelor of science in nursing degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Over the last four years, Steinkuhler has worked as a registered nurse on the progressive care unit at Great Plains Hospital in North Platte and in the cardiac intensive care unit at Bryan Health in Lincoln.

“A desire to help people drew me to acute care nursing,” explained Steinkuhler. “When you have the ability to help patients through crisis situations and even on their worst days, to figure out at least one thing that you can do to make their day better, that’s a privilege that I didn’t take lightly.”

Combining a passion for direct patient care and the desire to lead a team with a proven track record of success is what drew Steinkuhler to this leadership opportunity at Ambassador Health.

“The combination of working directly with our patients while handling the daily operations of a complex health care campus, is a challenge that I’m eager to take on,” expressed Steinkuhler. “I’m looking forward to helping our patients set goals and ultimately to help them find success in transitioning back home after their rehabilitation.”

In his spare time, Steinkuhler enjoys spending time with his wife, Kaila, and their two small children.
