Families & Potential Residents

Families & Potential Residents

Choosing a healthcare provider for yourself or a loved one is something that can be very difficult. Seeing is believing; Ambassador Health invites anyone considering one of our facilities to stop in for a tour. We realize that is not always possible and sometimes short-term rehabilitation patients may need to make a decision on a facility in a short amount of time. We hope you’ll find this information helpful, and if not, please call us and one of our admissions associates would be happy to answer your questions.

Exceptional Dining

Diet and appetite are an important part of your total well-being. Ambassador Health strives to ensure a top-notch dining experience for all of our patients and residents. We know that food choices are personal and specific to each person and work to provide several choices and snack options in addition to our regularly-scheduled meals. Our meals are all prepared with nutrition in mind, without sacrificing taste and experience. A registered dietician ensures that all nutritional needs and special diets are accommodated.

Life Enrichment

Whether it’s big band music or playing a Nintendo Wii video game, Ambassador Health’s Life Enrichment associates take great care to ensure there is something for everyone. There is a regular schedule of events as well as special occasions and occasional outings. In addition to group activities, our associates also spend time organizing personalized, individual activities.

Upon admission, our associates will have an in-depth discussion with each patient or new resident to identify activities that bring joy and happiness to help him or her lead a fulfilling life.

Private Rooms

Whether your time spent at Ambassador Health is for short-term transitional rehabilitation or extended care, our spacious private rooms allow you the space you need to feel comfortable while healing. With plenty of room to move about or socialize with family and friends, each room is designed to highlight large, bright windows that allow bird watching and weather spotting.

Salon/Spa

Ambassador Health realizes that the pride we take in our personal appearance does not diminish with age. Wellness means looking good as well as feeling good!

Each Ambassador Health community features a spa and salon or barber shop. Our spas utilize state-of-the-art whirlpool baths and transfer systems to make bathing a relaxing, enjoyable experience.

Experienced stylists and barbers visit each location on a regular basis to provide, haircuts, color, perms and barber services.

Smaller/Home

Bigger is not always better! Ambassador Health communities are smaller in size and dedicated to fostering a home-like environment whether you or your loved one’s stay is extended or shorter in duration. We realize that one of the most important aspects of home is a family and we provide consistent, caring professionals who take the time to get to know each patient and resident on a personal level.

Residents are encouraged to bring items from home that make their rooms feel more like home. Whether it’s a family heirloom like a grandfather clock or a smaller item like a treasured wedding photo, our staff will work with you and your loved one to create a familiar, home-like environment. Being comfortable with your surroundings is crucial in the healing process.

Transportation

Ambassador Health will take you where you want to go! Our transportation staff utilizes newer model, comfortable vans to bring patients from the hospital as well as our current residents and patients to medical appointments.

We understand that it’s difficult to juggle the balances of everyday life and the needs of an older loved one. If your loved one has a medical appointment and you cannot accompany him or her to the appointment, one of our trained staff members will accompany him or her.

Accepted Payor Sources

Financial issues can be the most difficult part of navigating any healthcare system. At Ambassador Health, we accept multiple forms of payor sources and our experienced staff works with case managers, our patients, and their families to understand the financial side of care provided at Ambassador Health.

Prior to admission, payor sources are verified to ensure we have an appropriately certified placement.

Ambassador Health Accepts:

  • Medicare (Part A and B)
  • Managed Medicare
  • Medicaid (Nebraska and Iowa)
  • Managed Medicaid
  • Private Insurance (Along with our current insurance contracts, we also have the capability of initiating individual contracts for patients.)
  • Self Pay

Accommodations

If you prefer to receive your specialized care in a private environment, than Ambassador Health’s private suites will be the best fit for you! If you’d benefit from communicating with another patient during your stay, you may find it beneficial to reside in a semi-private suite. Both options are available to suit your needs, and prior to your transition to Ambassador Health, a member of our admissions team will discuss your preference with you.

Private and semi-private patient accommodations include:

  • Television and cable services
  • Telephone and phone services

Your Safe Transition

At Ambassador Health, our approach to transitional rehabilitation is designed around the concept of bridging the gap between the hospital and the home. Our goal is to help you reach your goal, and in most situations, that goal involves a transition to a lower level of care.

If your goal is transition back to your home, to an independent or assisted living, or to a family member’s home, Ambassador Health will help you develop a plan to reach that goal. From the day of admission to the day of your transition home, we are focused on putting all of the pieces together to ensure a safe transition for you.

Your safe transition may include:

  • Home safety evaluation to assist with preparing your home for your return
  • Medication review to ensure proper delivery once you get home
  • Coordination of home health services if necessary
  • Coordination of home medical supplies
