Position: CNA/CMA

Job Type: Full Time and Part Time; $5000 Sign on Bonus (Full-Time)

Shift: All Shifts: Day (6am-2pm) Evening (2p-10p) & Night Shift (6pm-6am or 10pm-6am)

Work Location: In person at 1800 14th Ave. Nebraska City, NE 68410

Compensation: Based on experience 

  • Evening shift staff get an additional $1.00 per hour differential starting at 2:00 pm
  • Night shift staff get an extra $1.50 per hour differential starting at 10:00 pm
     

Duties:

  • Assist in the administering of medications as ordered by the attending physician, under the direction of the attending physician, the nurse supervisor or charge nurse, and the Director of Clinical Services. 
  • The administration of medications shall be in accordance with established nursing standards, the policies, procedures, and practices of this facility, and the requirements of this state.
  • Maintain and accurately document medications as ordered by the attending physician, following facility policies and procedures
  • Observe and verify that medication is ingested or applied as directed. Document any instance where prescribed medication is not administered, including reason(s) for refusal.
  • Ensure that no medication is administered without a written, signed, dated order
  • Verify the identity of the resident before administering the medication treatment.
  • Assist with daily living activities. This includes delivering meals, turning and ambulating patients and providing plenty of fresh water, as well as extra nourishment between meals
  • Help patients with personal hygiene.
  • Provide adjunct care for the patient, including ice packs, non-sterile dressings and therapeutic baths
  • Check vital signs and record daily information in the patient's chart
  • Assist the nurses and other staff as needed
  • Adhere to professional standards, follow policies and procedures and abide by federal, state and local requirements.

Skills:

  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to handle multiple tasks safely and effectively
  • Good communication skills, including the ability to communicate sensitive information with empathy ("bedside manner")

Requirements:

  • Valid CNA & CMA Certification
  • High School diploma or GED

Experience: Caregiving: 1 year (Preferred)
