Position: Staff Scheduler/Medical Records

Job Type: Full Time

Shift: Day Shift (Monday through Friday)

Work Location: In person at 1800 14th Ave. Nebraska City, NE 68410

Compensation: Based on experience 
 

Scheduler Duties:

  • Maintaining staffing schedules within excel; revising and advising management of same, including setting up orientation schedules for new staff and utilizing the mentor program when applicable.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels on all clinical units, incorporating concepts of acceptable staffing levels versus critical staffing levels and alerting management to any areas of critical staffing.
  • Process pre-approved routine requests for vacation / PTO time.
  • Assisting management with monitoring compliance to Ambassador's attendance policy as well as nursing specific policies and alerting management to any employee who triggers for discipline.
  • Alert Human Resources when an employee has a change in status, change in address or change in phone number.
  • Assist Management with scheduling staff attendance for in-services in and out of the facility.

Medical Records Duties:

  • Data Management: Accurately input, update, and manage patient medical histories, test results, and treatment plans in EHR systems.
  • Coding & Classification: Classify and code patient records for insurance reimbursement, utilizing standard diagnostic and procedural coding systems.
  • Compliance & Privacy: Protect sensitive patient information by strictly adhering to HIPAA and confidentiality standards.
  • Record Retrieval: Retrieve and audit files for completeness, providing timely access to records for healthcare providers.
  • Administrative Support: Scan paper documents, handle incoming/outgoing mail, and respond to requests for medical information.
  • Adhere to professional standards, follow policies and procedures and abide by federal, state and local requirements.
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Prefer completion of a state-approved CNA certification training course
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to handle multiple tasks safely and effectively
  • Good communication skills, including the ability to communicate sensitive information with empathy ("bedside manner")

Experience: Caregiving: 1 year (Preferred), CPR Certification (Preferred)
